Author talk
THE Authors at Ashfield series continues in May with a talk by writer, researcher and academic Dr Catherine Cole. The Poet Who Forgot uncovers the unique personal friendship that developed between Cole and the poet AD (Alec) Hope through the creative dynamics of their apprentice-mentor relationship. Hope was a world-renowned poet when Cole, a young undergraduate student of Australian literature, sent a polite letter asking for a meeting. That bold step sparked a lively correspondence from 1983 until his death in 2000. Cole's previous novels include Dry Dock and Skin Deep. The talk will take place at 1pm on Friday, May 2, at Level 3, Ashfield Civic Centre, 260 Liverpool Rd, Ashfield.
